To be honest, as a 'swim shirt' is intended to be worn in the water I would not have thought that anyone would comment if you wore one.
On this forum we talk about wearing normal street clothes wet, that normally are not worn wet, so I would think you would be okay in a swim shirt?
In other words, just do it !!
